Custom Desk built and Layout started - August 2025

The start of benchwork (shelf-work) for my 2 rail, O scale layout. This railroad will run around the room in my home office. A key design variable was the layout will be over my home office, PC desk. The height of monitors defined the layout height, shelf design and brackets used. The first step was to build the custom desk, which was built lower to help lower the final the track height. Being a 'shelf' and 32in deep, plus the monitor clearance, meant heavy brackets and extra planning. These pictures show the construction of my custom PC desk and the start of the layout shelf in the corner over my PC desk.
